18 July 2024: A Gift for the Jungle Family
In this episode, I explore Balai Dahilayan and encounter a jungle boy. When I first met him and asked about his father, he shook his head, saying “uncle.” It turned out the uncle was asleep inside and came out. After getting permission to look inside their hut, I saw the humble conditions, which touched me deeply. I felt they were the perfect candidates for a backpack filled with treasures.
After presenting the backpack and giving 2000 pesos to the uncle and 500 pesos to the boy, they got happy, and I saw smiles on their faces.
I was then granted permission to pet and ride one of their older horses. 🐴
🌿 The horse appeared small in comparison to my height, but given its age, this was a rare chance to see the world through the eyes of an older horse, something you might find surprising if you’ve never encountered one before.
After riding the horse, we drove out of the village and onto the road. Kimchi used his binoculars to search for the pineapple vendor while Kuya enjoyed some candy. This brief yet memorable journey, captured in a 20-minute video, highlights the touching experience with the jungle family.
