38th Birthday Celebration + Vikings Buffet in Davao! | Travel Blog Ep 9 🇵🇭

Date: July 23 & 24, 2024

The day started with us driving from the location featured in the previous vlog, heading straight to Goldilocks.

We went there to buy a cake, and once we arrived, we chose from the many cakes they had on display. After selecting two, we asked for a special custom text to be written on them. Photo

When we got home, it was time to cook! We decided to make some bacon, but this wasn’t the usual kind, it was American-brand beef bacon, my first time buying and trying it.

Kimchi was busy cutting up jelly into small squares for dessert.

I took charge of preparing my signature dish: pesto pasta with beef bacon.

A bit later, Nicole joined us. She ended up eating after us since we couldn’t wait any longer—we were way too hungry after all the prep!

After Nicole finished eating, Kimchi prepared buko pandan jelly with ice cream.

Then, Pompanda surprised me with a cake that read, "Happy Birthday 38 years Chicken Chan."

After we enjoyed the cake, we played a few rounds of tongits cards.

The next day, July 24, I tried some Muslim food that Kimchi brought home from hir girlfriend. It was pretty spicy!

After that, I surprised Kimchi with some money, I started by giving 50 pesos as a joke.

then handed over 1,000 pesos... ðŸ¥º

and then another 1,000 pesos! Kimchi was in total shock, haha!

Later, I gave Kimchi a Toxic Waste Nuclear Sludge sour candy as a fun treat.

I tried the candy too, it was seriously sour!

Kimchi's girlfriend came over shortly after because Kimchi had 6 bags of stuff to take home, thanks to me buying way too much for hir, tons of school supplies and clothes!

We took a taxi to drop everything off not too far from Kimchi's place, since the area where she lives is pretty dangerous. The taxi driver actually refused to drive all the way there.

Finally, we said goodbye to Kimchi.

After dropping off Kimchi, we headed to Vikings, a luxury buffet restaurant. While waiting in line, a guy named Toto Gaspar approached us. He asked if we’d like to sit with him because, if we did, we’d get a 50% discount. That was a fantastic deal because we didn’t realize you had to book a day in advance to eat there. Without his offer, we would’ve never gotten in, so we were pretty lucky!

Once inside, the buffet was incredible, with so much high-end food to choose from.

This was my plate, filled with lots of meat and a mix of random dishes.

And here’s my dessert plate.

Plus, my coffee to end the meal.

At the end, I even got a photo with Toto Gaspar and received his business card.
